Rob me once? Shame on you. Rob me twice? You better back off, lest you face the wrath of one retail worker’s glizzy.

Though Prestige Jewelers in Manhattan Beach, California may have been robbed roughly one decade ago, one of the store’s employees apparently retained several lessons from that fateful experience, scaring off several thieves who stormed the store this past Saturday.

As a group of sweatshirt-clad robbers burst into the store, smashing several glass cases displaying the retailer's precious gems before attempting to grab the goods and run, they quickly realized the error of their ways when an employee whipped out a gun, firing several shots in their direction before chasing them away.

While the group of men ultimately got away with some jewelry, according to the Los Angeles Times, they most certainly took with them an important robbery pro tip: If you’re going to burgle a jewelry store, at least make sure the staff isn’t locked and loaded.
